A Vinton woman faces up to 40 years in prison after she pleaded guilty Thursday in Franklin County Circuit Court to distribution of Oxocodone and Buprenorphine, both which are controlled drugs.
Robin Ann Steele, 30, pleaded guilty to distribution of Buprenorphine on March 1, 2012, though a controlled buy organized by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
Steele sold five of the pills for $105 during the controlled buy, which occurred outside a convenience store in Boones Mill.
On Aug. 28, 2012, Steele also sold nine Oxocodone pills for $150 during a controlled buy outside a restaurant in Boones Mill.
Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Dwight Rudd said a plea agreement calls for Steele to receive up to a maximum sentence of 10 years on the Buprenorphine distribution charge and up to a maximum sentence of 40 years on the distribution of Oxocodone charge. However, the agreement calls for the sentences to be served concurrently, which means Steele could not receive more than a maximum sentence of 40 years.
A sentencing hearing was set for June 25 at 4 p.m. in circuit court.
