A public hearing on a proposed 2013-14 general fund budget of $156,730 will be held by Boones Mill Town Council on Tuesday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m at the town hall.
The proposed budget contains no increases in real estate taxes or fees, according to Town Manager Lynn Frith.
The town's current real estate tax rate is 12 cents per $100 of assessed value.
The town's current general fund budget is $169,765.
Proposed general fund expenditures for next year's budget are American Electric Power, $15,000; Telephone Company, $2,400; Auto Decals, $690; Annual Audit, $4,500; Council and Mayor Salaries, $7,700; Fire Programs, $8,000; Town Hall Repairs, $200; Salary-Wages, $53,010; Contract Workers, $2,000; Payroll Taxes, $4,350; Payroll Tax Transfer, $4,350; Office Supplies, $1,500; Postage, $200; Advertising, $200; Insurance, $5,000; Attorney Fees, $4,000; Employee Health Insurance, $6,500;Town Complex Loan Payment, $34,142; and Miscellaneous, $388.
Police department expenditures, which are included in the general fund budget, are Vehicle Maintenance, $500; Supplies, $600; Fuel Cost, $500; Fees, $500; and State Indemnity Fund, $500.
The proposed water and sewer fund is set at $144,700 for the next fiscal year's proposed budget.
