A man and woman from Wirtz will each serve four years of a 10-year prison sentence for stealing jewelry from a Franklin County residence in January.
Amanda Hicks, 26, and Steven Lohrmann, 31, each pleaded guilty in April to one count of burglary and one count of grand larceny in Franklin County Circuit Court.
A second set of charges (burglary and grand larceny), stemming from another jewelry heist, against each defendant was dismissed through a plea agreement.
In addition to the prison time, Hicks and Lohrmann were each sentenced to four years probation, ordered to be of good behavior for 15 years and ordered to enter a therapeutic drug program.
The jewelry thefts from the two county residences, one on Roseberry Lane and one on Middle Valley Road, occurred on Jan. 2 and Jan. 13, according to Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Dwight Rudd. When the thefts occurred, the residents of the homes were away.
Over $200 in jewelry was taken from each of the homes, Rudd said, but some of the jewelry was recovered.
