Red Cross announces blood drives in Franklin County in face of shortage

The American Red Cross, facing its lowest blood donor turnout since the pandemic began, has announced a series of blood drives this month in Franklin County.

The donation events include:

2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Antioch Church of the Brethren, 2996 Callaway Road, T-shirts for all.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11, Westlake Library Branch of Franklin County, 84 Westlake Road, T-shirts for all.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. June 18, Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital, Rocky Mount.

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25, Franklin Heights Church, 110 Hill Top Drive, Rocky Mount.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 26, Burnt Chimney United Methodist Church, 6625 Booker T. Washington Highway, sponsored by the Ruritans.

1 to 6 p.m. June 29, Cool Branch Rescue Squad, 3060 Smith Mountain Road, Penhook
