As the two people who were arrested at July’s Roanoke County School Board meeting were arraigned on misdemeanor charges Monday morning, supporters of trans youths’ rights rallied outside the county courthouse.

People rally in support of trans youths’ rights outside the Roanoke County courthouse Monday after two people were arraigned on trespassing charges they received after refusing to leave a county school board meeting last month.
Benjamin James, one of two people arrested and charged with trespassing after Roanoke County School Board Chairman Brent Hudson asked police to escort the public out of the meeting room, captured his arrest on video Thursday evening.
