New Roanoke College mural brings Blue Ridge Mountains to downtown Salem

When Roanoke College students returned to campus in August, they might have spotted a new mural at the corner of College Avenue and Clay Street, bearing their school’s name.

The 60-foot mural stretches from top to bottom and side to side of Ayres Hall’s north side. It depicts the Blue Ridge Mountains in shades of blue, with “Roanoke College” painted in white on top.
