The war in the Middle East spiraled further Monday as Israel and the U.S. pounded Iran. President Trump said the campaign would likely take several weeks.
For Trump, some of the sharpest criticism he's faced in the early days of the Iran war has come from once-loyal media figures far more accustomed to singing his praises.
The war powers resolution would have given lawmakers an opportunity to demand congressional approval before further attacks.
Russia has provided Iran with information that could help Tehran strike American warships, aircraft and other assets in the region, according to two officials familiar with U.S. intelligence.

Oil prices rose sharply Monday as disruptions to tanker traffic raised uncertainty about how U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran would affect supply to the world economy.
With air travel mostly halted throughout the Middle East, the conflict that started Saturday stranded travelers in multiple countries besides Iran and Israel.Â
Typical of an unconventional presidency, the Trump administration waited more than 48 hours to communicate to the American people about why it decided to go to war with Iran.
