Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect the race has been postponed until Monday afternoon.
The NASCAR Cup Series race at Dover Motor Speedway's Monster Mile will have to wait another day as the Würth 400 was postponed to Monday due to rain.
And while the forecast Sunday was frightful, Hendrick Motorsports performance at the one-mile concrete track has been downright scary, as the team has won nine out of the last 18 races at the Monster.
Most recently, Chase Elliott drove to victory lane in his No. 9 Chevrolet in last year’s race, which gave Hendrick 22 all-time Dover wins.
Jimmie Johnson's 11 victories are the most wins ever at the track, while Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Stewart-Hass Racing Ford, is tied with Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch for most wins by an active driver with three each.
Stewart-Hass Racing has won four times in the last 18 races at the mile-long Delaware track, while Joe Gibbs Racing has won five times in that stretch.
“Dover is a racetrack that everything about it is unique,” said Harvick, whose last win at Dover came in 2020. “The concrete, itself, all the way around the racetrack, is unique. Dover is a racetrack where you can get away with being aggressive every single lap. You have to drive the car as hard as it will go every single lap, and that’s hard to do there because there are all the little bumps that come with the concrete, the change of elevation as you go in and off the corners, and all the banking in the corners – it’s just a really, really fast racetrack.
“It’s a beast of a racetrack and there’s a reason they call it the Monster Mile because you can get yourself in trouble really quick.”

Pick to win: Chase Elliott (+750)
In just his third race back after missing six weeks due to a broken leg suffered in a snowboarding accident, Elliott looks to defend his Dover win from last year, where he led 73 of the 400 laps.
Elliott has had a lot of success at the Monster Mile, winning twice (2018 was his first victory there), while notching nine top-5 finishes. He’s led 394 total laps in 12 career starts, while his average finish is 9.8 – which makes him just one of two active drivers with an average finish better than 10th, joining teammate Kyle Larson.
Top-3 Pick: Kyle Larson (+150)
Currently sitting fourth in Cup Series points for the season, Larson has four top-5 finishes in 10 races, including two victories: Richmond and Martinsville.
Larson has won once at Dover – in the fall of 2019 – and recorded 11 top-10 finishes, including seven top-5s in 14 starts.
He’s led 899 career laps and has an average finish of 6.9, which is the best in the field.
Top-10 Pick: Kevin Harvick (-185)
Harvick will make his 801st career Cup start Sunday at a track in which he’s been victorious three times.
Currently, the 47-year-old driver is third in Cup points for the season, earning five top-10s in 10 races.
In 42 career starts at the Monster Mile, Harvick has 23 top-10s, including 10 top-5s. He’s led 1,666 career laps and has an average finish of 12.9.
