2024 March Madness West Region Preview: Odds, best bets and more for UNC, Arizona
The West Region has an interesting foursome for their top 4 seeds in UNC, Arizona, Baylor and Alabama, who all had stellar regular seasons but then fell short in their respective conference tournaments.
Here's a look at the top team's odds to win it all:
2024 March Madness West Region Final Four pick: UNC to win West Region, make Final Four (+460 or better)
UNC comes into the tournament with a massive chip on their shoulder. Not only did their in-state rival in NC State defeat them for the ACC Tournament title, but the Tar Heels nearly lost out on a No. 1 seed in this tournament because of it.
The committee narrowly put them into that final No. 1 spot ahead of Tennessee.
Through the first few rounds of media making bracket picks, many have got Arizona advancing to the Final Four instead of them.
That potential Elite Eight game between the two would be electric -- already being coined "The Caleb Love Bowl" by some.
But in the end, they'll get past their No. 16 seed matchup, they'll have a tough outing against either Michigan State or Mississippi State but we like them to push forward -- specifically through their defense.Â
After that, we'll see where the matchups land, but it'll come down to that potential matchup with Arizona in our eyes -- one they've certainly got in the back of their minds as well.

March Madness West Region Round of 64 upset pick: No. 12 Grand Canyon (+4.5) over No. 5 Saint Mary's
The key to this game is going to be the Gaels' ability to stop Tyon Grant-Foster --the star guard for the Lopes is averaging nearly 20 points per game this season.
Saint Mary's is elite in stopping the 3-point shot, but Grant-Foster is already not the best shooter from outside, so he should try doing most of his work from inside the arc.
The Gaels are extremely physical and could do their best to force Grand Canyon to make someone else on the floor beat them. But the Lopes are a good team and this line is the closest among 5-12 seed games in the tournament.Â
