Tuesday morning, the Huskies were listed as one of the favorites to repeat next season by oddsmakers.
But UConn, which won every March Madness game by double digits, has company atop the oddsboards for 2024, as FrontPageBets looks at which teams are favored to win it all next year.
While the Huskies are the favorites at FanDuel (+1100), the Duke Blue Devils are DraftKings’ frontrunner at +1000 when futures lines opened at the sportsbooks shortly after Monday night’s championship game ended.
Duke, a No. 5 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament, underachieved in head coach Jon Scheyer’s first year after taking over for legend Mike Krzyzewski. But the future looks bright for the Blue Devils, and the sportsbooks recognize that.
Kentucky is also another team that is getting early love, opening up at +1200 at DraftKings and +1500 at FanDuel.
Both Duke and Kentucky lost in the second round of this year’s NCAA Tournament.
DraftKings has Duke as its 2024 favorite at +1000 odds, while UConn is third on the book’s list at +1400. Kentucky is at +1200, while Kansas and Marquette open at +1600 to cut down the nets next year.
FanDuel’s top five are: UConn (+1100), Duke (+1300), Arizona (+1500), Alabama (+1500) and Kentucky (+1500).
San Diego State, which was playing in its first-ever Final Four this season, opened at 100-1 odds to win next year’s title. Florida Atlantic and Miami, which were also making their first appearance in the Final Four, both opened at +3000, according to FanDuel.
