No. 9 UCLA at No. 10 Oregon highlights this week's slate.
The 2022 college football regular season ends in just over one month, marking the stretch run when the nation’s prime performers increase the fight to stand out.
Likewise, bettors seeking high-potential player props can make out nicely at the sportsbook by identifying these season-defining star performances.
Week 8 has several top matchups to consider. Chip Kelly’s return to Autzen Stadium with undefeated UCLA and surprising Syracuse looking to stun Clemson offer some of the most enticing player props posted at midweek.
FrontPageBets gives a glimpse.
UCLA WR Jake Bobo over 0.5 receiving touchdowns, DraftKings
Bobo, a Duke transfer, has emerged as UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s top vertical threat. Bobo’s 24 receptions are second to Kazmeir Allen’s 28 on the Bruins’ leaderboard. But Bobo has almost twice as many yards (385 vs. 199) and a team-leading five touchdown grabs.
Bobo has been at his best in the spotlight. He had two touchdowns against Washington and a pair in the win vs. Utah. His other scoring grab came in the Bruins’ win over South Alabama.
Now comes the trip to Oregon.
After nearly upsetting the Ducks in Pasadena a season ago, the undefeated Bruins look to continue their dream season with a signature win for Kelly over his former program. Bobo figures to play a key role, and there is undeniable value in his +105 odds to score.
Syracuse WR Oronde Gadsden II anytime touchdown, FanDuel
Syracuse’s shocking unbeaten start faces its stiffest test. Clemson is the 13.5-point favorite in this ACC meeting, but Dino Babers’ team has defied odds all season.
That’s why we’re attracted to the +145 odds FanDuel offers on rangy Gadsden II scoring a TD.
He has caught at least three passes in every appearance this season, and has 25 combined over the last four games. Quarterback Garrett Shrader has leaned heavily on the 6-foot-5 Gadsden particularly in the Orange’s most high-profile games, targeting Gadsden for two touchdowns apiece against Purdue and last week vs. N.C. State.
Gadsden’s size and playmaking are reminiscent of Wake Forest’s Jahmal Banks, who terrorized the Clemson secondary in Week 4.
Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins 2+ touchdowns, FanDuel
A high-powered Ole Miss offense averaging more than 40 points per game owes considerable credit for its production to freshman sensation Judkins. Judkins has scored in all but one game and reached paydirt two or more times in four of the last five contests.
Last week against Auburn, Judkins scored three touchdowns, including his first receiving score. Lane Kiffin has historically loved to use running backs as pass-catching threats in the red zone, even deploying running back Jerrion Ealy more as last season progressed.
Judkins’ proven rushing ability, combined with the prospect of more receiving opportunities, serves to bolster his scoring value.
At +210 odds to again score two or more touchdowns, Judkins is worth taking a flier. The LSU defense has been good this season, but hardly impenetrable at 21.3 points allowed per game, most notably giving up 75 combined points its last two times out against SEC opponents.
