The Jags are the NFL’s low-hanging fruit. They’re yet to win a game, have played terribly and don’t seem to have the offensive or defensive personnel capable of winning games. They’re also on a short week and have to go on the road to face a hungry division rival who just got blown out and will be out with a vengeance.
The Steelers’ suffocating defense allowed the fewest points and yards per game, is sixth in takeaways, and seventh in sack percentage. That’s a nightmare matchup for the Colts and Anthony Richardson, who has completed 49.3% of his passes and has three touchdowns to six interceptions thus far.
Jayden Daniels is the NFL’s “it” kid after his breathtaking performance on Monday night. Cam Taylor-Britt armed Kliff Kingsbury with ammunition by insulting his offense before the MNF game, and Kingsbury has another point to prove against a Cardinals franchise that fired him a couple of years ago.
Washington’s defense is bad, but their offense is the second-most efficient in the league and can take advantage of Arizona’s personnel.
If the answer is Deshaun Watson, the question wasn’t anything positive. Cleveland’s offense averaged the third-fewest yards per play and would doom them if they didn’t have an elite defense that held the Jaguars to 13 points last week. Daniel Jones is a constant turnover risk and liability at QB who, unlike Watson, doesn’t have a tremendous defense to bail him out.
Detroit has several concerns, namely Jared Goff’s turnovers and Frank Ragnow’s partially torn pec, but they’re still 2-1 and an overall excellent team. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are 3-0 but beat rookie Bo Nix in his NFL debut, the woeful Patriots in overtime, and the Skylar Thompson-led Dolphins. They’re in a tough spot going on the road against a team with talented personnel all over the field.
The Chargers could kick off against the Chiefs without Justin Herbert, Joshua Palmer, Rashawn Slater, Joe Alt, Joey Bosa and Derwin James. They couldn’t move the football against the Steelers last week and have next to no chance against a Chiefs team that just finds ways to win if they aren’t at full strength.
Jacoby Brissett is about to play himself out of the starting job after he threw 12-for-18 for 98 yards last week. New England’s defense is about league average and nowhere close to being able to cover for their offense. San Francisco dropped two straight games, but Brock Purdy is playing very well, and the only way is up for their defense.
Henry is fresh off a 151-yard, two-touchdown masterclass against the Cowboys, though Dallas’ league-worst run defense is a far cry from what the Bills have to offer.
The Ravens' star RB also went under in two of his last three games against Buffalo and still hasn’t been the most effective runner on his own team — that would be Lamar Jackson. The Bills are only 22nd in yards allowed per run but have played very conservative defense because they’ve been up by so many points.
Allen has been the best player in the league and just threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns last week. This figures to be a back-and-forth matchup between two elite quarterbacks, which should lead to Allen racking up lots of yards. The Ravens also gave up more than 291 yards passing per game, 36 more than the second-worst team.
Buffalo is first in offensive and seventh in defensive EPA per play. They’re 3-0 and have their quarterback playing the cleanest football of his career since he has yet to turn the ball over this season. Baltimore’s defense is nowhere near the level it was at last year, and it’s highly unlikely they will blow out their AFC rival.
