It’s no surprise that the Super Bowl is one of the most-bet sporting events in the world.
The NFL’s global popularity coupled with the spectacle that is the Super Bowl year-in and year-out and the legalization of sports betting across the United States has made it so.
An estimated $7.6 billion (with a “B”) was expected to be bet last year on Super Bowl LVI, according to a survey by the American Gaming Association. This year, that number should climb as sports betting is now legal in 36 states as well as Washington, D.C.
So with the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles one week away from kicking off Super Bowl LVII from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., FrontPageBets is taking a look at historical betting trends for the Big Game.
The Eagles are currently 1.5-point favorites and are playing in their first Super Bowl five years. The Chiefs are playing in their third Super Bowl in the last four years.
