The Lions have allowed the most points (35.3) and total yards of offense (444.8) per game through the first four weeks of action, and there’s no reason to believe much will change when they head to Foxborough, Mass.
New England has no problem finding the end zone on its home turf, scoring at least three touchdowns in each of its past seven games at Gillette Stadium.
There are some questions as to who will start under center for the Patriots, but whoever does should be able to move the ball against a defense that has already allowed 19 touchdowns on the young season.
New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins
Is it too early to jump on the Jets train? Yeah? Well, we’re going to anyway.
Most of Miami’s early success can be attributed to the passing game, and that takes a serious hit with Tua Tagovailoa sidelined with a concussion. Sure, the Dolphins still have Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but that’s not going to matter if Teddy Bridgewater can’t get things going through the air.
New York’s secondary was suffocating last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, coming down with four interceptions while letting Pittsburgh quarterbacks throw for just 204 yards. Look for Sauce Gardner, Jordan Whitehead, Lamarcus Joyner and D.J. Reed to be on the prowl once again.
Miami is just one of four teams to average less than 70 yards per game on the ground, so if the Jets can force the Dolphins’ offense to be run-heavy on Sunday, we could see New York record back-to-back wins for the first time since the 2020 season.
Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants Â
The pick: Aaron Jones over 58.5 rushing yards (-115 DraftKings, -110 BetMGM, -125 Caesars)
Betting on Jones’ rushing total will always come with some risk considering the situation in the backfield in Green Bay, but there’ll be more than enough carries to go around on Sunday when the Packers play the Giants in London.
A.J. Dillon has been a much bigger part of Green Bay’s offensive game plan this season and has 57 carries to Jones’ 48 through four games.
However, Jones truly makes the most of his touches and is averaging 6.8 yards per carry this season. He has already rushed for more than 100 yards twice, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he did so for the third time against a New York defense that allows an average of 141.0 rushing yards per game.
Expect both Jones and Dillon to get somewhere around 11-17 touches, and that should be more than enough for Jones to win you some money.
