Franklin County's competition cheer squad poses with the Piedmont District championship trophy after capturing the league title Wednesday night at Bassett High School. The league championship is the Eagles' 10th in a row and 11th overall (one in the Roanoke Valley District, nine in the Western Valley District and one in the Piedmont) The Eagles placed first in the four-team competition with 234.5 points and were assessed no technical deductions. Taking second was Bassett (161), followed by Halifax County (152) and Magna Vista (142.5).
