Junior Kaleb Wyche next season has a chance to become the fourth player to be named All-Metro player of the year twice, joining Collegiate’s Russell Wilson (2005-06), Dinwiddie’s Harry Dalton (2022, 2024) and Highland Springs’ Khristian Martin (2022-23).
Junior Kaleb Wyche, the All-Metro player of the year, passed for 2,520 yards, ran for 1,223 and accounted for 51 touchdowns while quarterbacking Varina to the Class 4 state championship this season. Father Kennard and brother KJ were stars in another sport, combining for three All-Metro selections in basketball. The three have combined for three state titles, two by Kennard and on by Kaleb.
