Matt Fitzpatrick captured his first PGA Tour win since 2023 by winning the Valspar Championship by one shot at Palm Harbor in Florida. Fitzpatrick carded a three-under-par final round of 68 to finish on 11 under and edge out American David Lipsky. The 31-year-old closed his round with a 14-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to clinch his third career victory on the PGA Tour. “To come away with a win this week is really special, considering last week's performance as well. I'll be honest, it wasn't an ideal putt (on 18). I wouldn't say I was overly keen on it considering my putting performance but to get it done was special," said Fitzpatrick. The triumph comes after Fitzpatrick saw a win at the Players’ Championship slip away last week despite leading the tournament by one shot on the penultimate hole. The 2022 US Open victor carded a par-bogey finish while Cameron Young birdied the last to win the event. Fitzpatrick, who won last year’s DP World Tour Championship, will now turn his attention to the Masters, which runs from April 9 to 12.
