SMLA President Bill Butterfield presented Keri Green, chair of SMLA’s Lake Quality Council, with the Leadership and Service Award she recently received at the North American Lake Management Society conference. She received the award for her efforts responding to last year’s harmful algal blooms including the creation of multiple programs, obtaining state funding and organizing a SMLA Lake Quality Council.
MONETA — The Smith Mountain Lake Association celebrated a superb summer on the water this year at its annual meeting Tuesday. This year saw some of the cleanest water in the lake’s history as well as the fewest boating incidents reported since 2019.
