Earlier this year, Gov. Glenn Youngkin made it a priority to ban the sale of Virginia farmland to any foreign government or person classified by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce as a foreign adversary.
A petition from Mason students on Change.org called for the school to rescind its graduation invitation to Gov. Glenn Youngkin, calling it "harmful and disrespectful." The petition cites Youngkin's positions on transgender students in schools, teaching racial equity and Republicans' efforts to remove certain books from school libraries.
