Jim Bailey is the new superintendent at Booker T. Washington National Monument.
A lifelong love of history led Jim Bailey on the path of becoming a park ranger at some of nation’s most historic parks. It also led him to his newest position as the superintendent of Booker T. Washington National Monument.
Booker T. Washington was born an enslaved person on a Franklin County farm, but post emancipation became nationally known for his efforts at education and economic expansion for the Black community.
